MySpace Upgrading To Flash 9.0 For Security Reasons?

Apparently the social network king is upgrading to Flash 9.0 in order to keep hackers from messing with people's content. Here is the message users might see if they log in (with screen shot below).

hey folks - we are moving myspace music players and video players to flash 9.0. flash 9 has security fixes so that people can't mess with you on myspace. if your 'about me' got screwed up this weekend, you could have been safe if you had flash 9 installed. here's an easy way to install it, go watch this dashboard video i posted last week. if you don't like dashboard, just watch any video in our video section, and you'll be prompted to install flash 9.

After suffering from various issues ranging from power outages to spyware, it looks like Myspace is starting to recover and get back on its feet.

MySpace is one of the most popular social networks online and whether you love them or loathe them, you have to admit that most of the competition is jealous at the amount of attention they receive (not to mention the traffic).

So I was pondering over the past few weeks why I feel so restless. After all, I live in a country that is the envy of half the planet (and the loathing of the other half) so I should feel somewhat comfortable.

I have great parents, I attend a church where I get along with ~~everyone~~ most people and I love the southern drawl here. And last but not least the weather and food (aside from McDonald's) is okay.

But still I am restless and I think I can figure out why...

I miss Tel Aviv. I miss everything about it. I miss eating falafels, I miss bartering at the Arab markets, I miss trying to figure out what that Hebrew street sign says, I miss "the excitement" of sitting next to a soldier holding a bazooka and mostly I miss the diversity of culture within the city. (after all, where else can you meet a Chinese Jewish man?)

This video makes it even worse...

So I pretty much figure that I can either plan to live "an American life" within the US of A or explore the Kosher land of Israel, specifically Tel Aviv.

By this post date next year (Lord willing) I'll be in the city of Falafels eating my favorite dish. After all, why stay in your native country if it isn't truly your home?

I Survived The Paintball Wars

So yesterday my church and my favorite heathen friends (well I didn't know them, so they're more like acquaintances) went into the woods and had a blast shooting each other--with paint balls.

One good thing I learned about paintball is that a strong offense makes a good defense. After losing on the first round and receiving the bruise below...

...I quickly decided that storming "the enemies gates" was not only more fun, but also less tense. Why wait for the terror to come when you can be the terror yourself?

Anyways, here is a victory wound, which hurt a lot less than the one above.

Although I got shot, our team destroyed the other side, and we celebrated our victory by accepting another challenge from our rivals.

This one on my leg below I have no clue how I got, but it probably was from getting caught in a cross fire.

I'll wait until I recover from my bruises before going at it again. Right now I have to finish up some posts for Inside Orkut as I'm already behind schedule. If only this existed. Sigh.

Unfortunately due to my schedule I will unable to continue my enjoyable pattern of chatting with friends, strangers and internationals abroad. In order to be able to maintain sanity (as in not cut into sleep) I will be cutting out most chat programs, including Yahoo, AIM, IRC, ICQ and MSN (which I may pick up later on but for now I am dropping it as well). I will still be on via Skype and Google Talk as I have invested money into the former and can connect to Google with the latter. Perhaps in a couple months I can pick up at least MSN again. Sad Selah.

I sometimes feel like an astronaut in outer space...merely floating along observing life from afar. It's funny how quickly my "peers" have changed over the last...er...six years to be exact. I have gone from horrible to alone to spiritual fellowship to almost alone again. I guess we are all in our seperate "universes" trying to change the world for the good of Heaven. I still remember those speeches we had at the Honor Academy...how they encouraged everyone to find your place and change the world for God...hopefully I haven't forgotten that call upon my life...our lives. It's amazing what one encounters when studying! Well, the material was harder than I thought it was but I am doing a lot better than I thought I was (I have studied two chapters straight already and have learned a lot about securities...although I feel this is just the "drop in the bucket). Well, today I also found out one of my relatives has just passed away so my schedule for this week is up in the air (I have to find out which state I am traveling to as I was suppose to go to a business meeting out of state). Hmm...oh yeah! I have to find a way to introduce Skype (www.skype.com) to my boss. I love the international set up (may be useful in Germany). Selah!

Well...it looks like this will become familiar once again. My Securities books and CD's came in so I have to start cracking out the old mind. I may be away from blogging for a while (at least my political one for a bit) but will probably try to update this one frequently since I don't have to be connected to blogger to use it. (Evil is among us...more below) So my new computer arrived yesterday and I have finished installing most of the software needed for work (and play!). Since I am a huge Google fan I decided to explore their chat feature which is called Hello (www.hello.com). It is great with sharing photo's and when teamed up with Picasa (www.picasa.com) is a great photo sharing program. Hello is a great chat program where you can share pictures with friends and family. Unfortunately, porno-freaks are also using it as well and I think I have gotten my fare share of porn from them (both guys and girls!). I am not into pornography (never have been) and think those who share it need to get a life! Since my viewpoint is in the minority right now, I am either going to have to convince others of why this does a great dis-service to women or simply stop using the client all together. Either way...I've had my fill for life (as in I DON'T WANT ANY MORE!). And that is coming from a guy. Selah.

Her name is...well...I won't give her name just in case she gets angry at me for doing that, but she is turning 21 and is a pretty cool girl.
